- love yourself no matter what.
- never compare yourself to others.
- you are in control of your own happiness.
- and never rely on someone for that happiness.
- never let your healthy lifestyle get in the way of living or hold you back from doing what you want/love - it's okay to go out for ice cream or pizza with friends once in a while.
- being skinny is not everything.
- being skinny won't make people like you.
- being skinny won't make you entirely happy.
- skinny does not always mean healthy.
- never change yourself for ANYONE. someone out there is bound to accept every little aspect of your truly beautiful self.
- some things DO taste better than skinny feels. trust me.
- don't get down on yourself after eating something "bad." food is good. it keeps you alive.
- "perfection" should not even be acceptable as a word. no one is perfect and people should stop striving so desperately to achieve it.
- the most beautiful characteristic someone can have is self-love and acceptance. it's inspiring to others and creates strong and powerful relationships.
- always look for the good in people.
- never let your insecurities hold you back from doing something you want.
- it's too easy to hate yourself in a world where the words "ugly" and "fat" are constantly thrown around. this is the body you were given and you shouldn't waste your life away by hating it.
Definitely be patient! It sounds like you’ve got an awesome routine, but one week usually isn’t enough to see changes. Even though the comparison picture I posted was from only one month, I’ve actually been working out for about a year. One thing I would say is don’t forget to add some HIIT into your routine too. Maybe on one of the cardio days, instead of 45 minutes normal cardio do 20-30 minutes HIIT. It’s super efficient at burning fat and I always see good results when I include it in my routine! And thank you :) My arms have always been a trouble area too so I’m glad to see a change!
Haha thank you! Well you can’t spot reduce, so there’s nothing you can really do to lose weight specifically from your arms. You can reduce your overall body fat, however, by creating a calorie deficit! Basically eat healthy and exercise to burn calories. When I was training for the triathlon I was running, swimming, and biking, as well as doing the Jillian Michaels Body Revolution (strength training) program. I never really worked out for more than an hour a day (and I had one rest day a week). A typical day might be: run 1 mile, bike 3 miles, then do Jillian DVD. I think it was a good mix of cardio and strength training that really helped me!
It had like 20 notes and now it has like 300 lol. (this post)
And I have multiple asks pertaining to it :P It’s weird when stuff like this happens.
Ah well, glad I can be motivation to some people! :D
Well you can’t spot reduce, so I guess I just lost overall body fat! Honestly I just tried to eat healthy (I was on vacation in my hometown for a little over a week out of the month when that pic was posted, so eating healthy was hard sometimes). I watched my portions and worked out 6 days a week for 30 minutes - 1 hour. I was training for a triathlon so most days I did some combination of running, swimming, or biking. I was also doing the Jillian Michaels Body Revolution program, which is primarily strength training, four days a week. I didn’t notice my body changing at all but when I posted that comparison pic I was shocked at the difference in my arm!
Meal 1: TGI Fridays - Flat iron steak, broccoli, and sweet potato fries
Meal 2: Hard boiled eggs
Meal 3: Zucchini boats stuffed with zucchini flesh, pepperoni, and onions
Meal 4: Eggs in bacon cups with veggies
Exercise: None, rest day
Totals: 1388 calories, 74g carbs, 86g fat, 85g protein
Notes: Okay so sweet potato fries aren’t *technically* paleo, but I couldn’t resist. Still way better than what I would have ordered at Fridays before!!
